Ross Wimmersberger, President

4cIT was founded by Ross Wimmersberger in 2008.  His professional career has been spent primarily working for financial institutions, however,he has also consulted numerous clients in the healthcare, retail, and automotive industries.  Ross is a technologist at heart, but has the mindset and skills of a professional.  Below are some highlights of his career in Information Technology.

Ross has served as Chief Technology Officer and Information Security Officer for Symphony Bank for over 2 years.  Responsibilities and accomplishments include:

  • Documented all policies and procedures for the Information Technology department.  This included an IT Strategic Plan, Information Security Program, and IT Risk Assessment.
  • Responsible for the IT infrastructure of the entire organization. Design, implement, and administer the banks’ network to remain compliant with GLBA, SOX, FDIC, and OCC regulations.
  • Created bank-wide Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery Plan, as well as formed new policies and procedures for the organization including Information Security Program, IT Strategic plan, and all other policies required by regulators.
  • Created redundant data center with near real-time redundancy for Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL, and all other personnel data.
  • Managed all IT finances with cost savings exceeding $50k in his first eight months.
  • Redesigned the corporate website, including single sign-on, multi-factor authentication. Found cost savings in excess of $10k.
  • Assisted marketing committee in coordinating corporate strategies for new products, leveraging technology in order to bring additional value.

Prior to that Ross was at First Merchants Corporation in Muncie, Indiana for 8 years.  Responsibilities and accomplishments include:

  • Managed the network infrastructure department with responsibilities that included; designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting all aspects of an 85+ site WAN, LAN, Telephony (traditional and VoIP), and security.
  • Designed, implemented, and created entire data center from the ground up. Redundant OC12 fiber backbone, moving of personnel and the core phone system.  Millions in IT assets were moved during this project.
  • Created documentation, policies, procedures, and attestations for SOX, GLBA, OCC, and FDIC compliance relating to all areas of network infrastructure.
  • Ran department responsible for installation and administration of Avaya s8700, 8500, and 25+ 8300 remote phone systems. G350/G700 installation and setup for remote VoIP branches. Call center creation/administration for multiple internal, and one external call center handling 2000 calls per day, including dial plan creation, call routing administration, and training to end-users.
  • Supported entire hybrid, primarily Cisco, network consisting of over 160 routers and switches, 7200 core redundant routers with multiple DS3 connections, and 4000 series redundant core switches. Ethernet over Sonet and ISDN backup connections for disaster recovery. VPN access and site to site VPN tunnels were also setup and maintained.
  • Installed, tested, and accepted voice and data circuits including ISDN, Frame, T1, DS3, OC3, and OC12.
  • Managed team of technicians responsible for maintaining image network, integrating and consolidating other affiliate banks technologies, and found ways to reduce operating costs.
  • Integrated several financial institutions ATM networks into corporate network. Cost savings of over $100k per year, and increasing business revenue over $300k annually.
  • Leveraged technology for laser statement production resulting in annual cost savings in excess of $50k/year from postal discounts, and reduction of paper usage.
